Over the past 40 years I’ve started, operated, and sold several businesses. Some very successful and some that did ok. My first job out of the Navy was working as a Marketing Representative for my mother’s business. A business she, a single mother of three, built from our kitchen table to one that operated in 14 states and the District of Columbia. Needless to say, I learned a LOT from her and inherited her entrepreneurial spirit. I learned the value of a dollar, as well as the value of time. I learned that you can not get ahead if you don’t train somebody who can fill in behind you.
Relationships matter. A lot!
I was and still am a technology nerd at heart, studying Mechanical Engineering Technology in College, then entering the Navy and going through Nuclear Power School gave me a solid foundation in learning high level technology and more importantly the need to understand why things work. And yes that's why I glow in the dark.
I have created and successfully sold several businesses over the years and spent a tremendous amount of time in the Hospitality Industry, (30+ years). Most recently I was the owner/operated of a BBQ Restaurant that my wife and I created from scratch. We grew that restaurant into 4 locations, plus offsite concessions in an NBA Arena, Minor League Baseball Park, NASCAR Speedway, PGA Events ( Wells Fargo Championship and the PGA Championship), Music Festivals (40K attending), Minor League Hockey Arena and a Food Truck.
I could have completely retired, but what fun is that, I’m still pretty young and have accumulated a lot of knowledge over the years that I’d like to use to help YOU. I believe in the 5 Pillars of Success for Restaurants. PEOPLE, PROCESSES, PURCHASES, PRODUCTS, PROFITS.
