With deeply rooted passions for quality family time and authentic Southern cuisine, Lisa Brooks is no stranger to providing those around her with delicious homecooked meals. After a 16-year stint in the corporate world in Chapel Hill, Lisa Brooks returned to her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina and enrolled in the CPCC culinary arts program to pursue her life-long dreams sharing her family’s Southern recipes.

For over two decades, Lisa Brooks has been preparing food with love and curating one-of-a-kind experiences that create memories that last a lifetime. She pairs her Southern culture and family recipes with her classic French training to create dishes that stem from her roots while simultaneously expanding beyond traditional Southern cuisine.

In just 12 years, Chef Lisa has grown her business from a solo entrepreneurship into a small corporation. She has mentored and formed the most talented team of female chefs from all over the South. Along with an amazing crew of servers, her team now consists of 31-members that deliver the most elite dining experiences in the Charlotte area.

In 2021, Chef Lisa created Personal Chef Academy, LLC. to create coaching and mentorship programs that teach up-and-coming chefs how to start, build, and grow a profitable personal chef business. Her online course suite, “The Personal Chef Playbook”, consists of 6- week courses designed to help both new and established chefs.

In June of 2022, Chef Lisa launched Heart & Soul’s dining experience, Mattie’s Front Porch, an intimate monthly multi-course dinner series showcasing Low-Country and Southern coastal cuisine. Mattie’s Front Porch pays homage to her family’s matriarch, Lisa’s grandmother Mattie, who encouraged the family to come together each and every week for a homecooked family dinner. To echo the sentiment, Mattie’s Front Porch encourages its guests to come to the table to connect with individuals who share the same passion for incredible cuisine and storytelling.
